The Answer is :
In general, there is no particular need to know the NTP version
or other such details for a default installation -- simply
configure and start the NTP client per the documentation.

TCP/IP Stack and NTP client will be of interest, and as details
of the particular requirements will be of interest.
The current protocol with TCP/IP Services V5.4 is ntpd 4.1.0.
