The Question is:
I have a VAX 4000-200 that won't autoboot. All the necessary switches (break
Enable/Disable, Power-up mode) and settings (BOOT, BFLAG, HALT) are correctly
set, but the system still goes into interactive mode, asking for the date,
language and disk to boo
t from.
At one time, the system autobooted without a problem, but now it won't. Am I
still missing something, or what do I need to do...
The Answer is :
Please contact your hardware service organization, as it appears
that your processor hardware has failed -- this is clearly not an
OpenVMS issue, it appears to be a question of a failed battery.
