The Question is:
I'm running these product on my Alpha:
CPQ AXPVMS ADVANCEDSERVER V7.3-A2
DEC AXPVMS VMS731_RMS V3.0
DEC AXPVMS TCPIP_ECO V5.3-182
DEC AXPVMS VMS731_BACKUP V1.0
DEC AXPVMS VMS731_FIBRE_SCSI V2.0
DEC AXPVMS VMS731_SYS V3.0
DEC AXPVMS VMS731_F11X V1.0
DEC AXPVMS VMS731_DCL V3.0
DEC VMS AVAIL_MAN V2.3
CPQ AXPVMS CDSA V1.0-2
DEC AXPVMS DECNET_PHASE_IV V7.3-1
DEC AXPVMS DWMOTIF V1.2-6
DEC AXPVMS OPENVMS V7.3-1
DEC AXPVMS TCPIP V5.3-18
DEC AXPVMS VMS V7.3-1
And the Pathworks 32 client on a Win2000 prof box.
The problem is writing files from the client (pc) to a Pathworked share on the
host (Alpha). It's unbearable slow: over 30 minutes for a 4mb file. Doesn't
matter how the file is written: either a copy from a local drive to the share
or save-as from, say
Notepad.exe. File writes from the Alpha to the pc are fine.
Don't see any hardware errors being logged on either the pc or the Alpha, don't
see any errors in any pwrk$log:*.log; files.
file transfers are fine from win98 boxes.
Any ideas why it's so slow?
The Answer is :
Assuming the following two items are true:
- This is PATHWORKS 32 V7.3 on Microsoft Windows 2000.
- DECnet file transfers are being used between the local
and the remote system.
If so, please contact the Customer Support Center for an
updated driver to address the problem: DECDNP.SYS V7.3.110,
or later, as available.
If the above items are not true, please contact the support
center as additional details will be required.
