Seeking Hardware (Error) Troubleshooting?

The Question is:

 
Please explain the following memory error:-
 
 "simm in slot 3L _MS44(L)-AA (4Mb)"
 
Is this a serious error? The system hung and needed a reboot, but I need to
 know if the simm needs replacing.
