What is SYSUAF.DAT?

» close window

The Question is:

What is SYSUAF.DAT?
Is it a must for a system to have this file?

The Answer is :

The system copy of SYSUAF.DAT is the central database of users and
  usernames and passwords.

This file is normally located in SYS$SYSTEM:, but can be located
  elsewhere by the system manager.

The OpenVMS Wizard would strongly encourage you to read the OpenVMS
manuals, as this question implies you are quite unfamiliar with
OpenVMS and with OpenVMS system management.
