The Question is:
I was using CompacTape III's (DLT III) for all tape storage and backups on my
VAX. Apparently these tapes are no longer made. Can you tell me what NEW
TAPE would be comparable or compatiblity and work in my VAX?
The Answer is :
The OpenVMS Wizard is not a StorageWorks Wizard, and is not
particularly familiar with DLT media compatibility.
Please contact the customer support center, as details of the
particular DLT drive will be of interest -- this is probably
a TK87, TK86, or TK85 series drive, though the specific device
identification would be useful in determining compatibility.

The OpenVMS Wizard might well replace the DLT drive with a
newer one, gaining the performance and capacity improvements
that entails.
