The Question is:
When using mail to send messages to cell phones I can send to every phone
companies email address except for cingular phones. ex.
5554443333@page.mobilfone.com works fine but 5553334444@mobile.mycingular.com
does not. Sending from PC etc works ok for th
ese addresses. Cingular claims no knowledge of a difference. Is there
anything I might check on my VMS system for possible problems?
The Answer is :
The OpenVMS Wizard knows rather less of this third-party service
than the service representative that claims no specific knowledge
of particular third-party-specific SMTP requirements.
Please contact the cellular provider -- again -- and please ask
the provider for technical support assistance, and for specific
requirements of their email gateway -- the OpenVMS Wizard would
assume that the provider has or can enable logging on their SMTP
gateway(s) and would encourage such here.
The OpenVMS Wizard would also check to see if the service requires
MIME attributes, or has spam filters in place, or other specific
and highly local requirements.
But again, the OpenVMS Wizard is not in a position to assist with
supporting a third-party provider product.
