FTP PASSIVE (PASV) transfers?

The Question is:

 
I need to know how to ftp a file to a remote server using a passive mode
 through a firewall.
 
Any information would be helpful.

The Answer is :

 
  Your version of OpenVMS Alpha (and thus the likely range of TCP/IP
  versions involved; best and newest for V6.2 is V4.2) is too old for
  PASV (passive mode transfer) support.
 
  TCP/IP Services versions with passive-mode support within FTP
  -- TCP/IP Services V5.1 and later -- have HELP SET PASSIVE text
  available within the FTP help library.  The OpenVMS command
  COPY/FTP has also acquired /PASSIVE for OpenVMS Alpha V7.3-1.
