The Question is:

 
I am trying to connect to my Alphaserver through a new Multitech MT5600ZDXV
 Modem connected to a port on a DECserver 90L+ it seems to connect and
 handshake ok but fails to send or return characters, do I need to program this
 new Modem? I am replacing an o
lder Multitech MT3334ZDX that failed. I realize this is more hardware related
 than OpenVMS, if you cannot field this question who would I ask. Thanking you
 in advance for your help.
