Advanced Server V7.3A?

» close window

The Question is:

What are the differences between Advanced Server 7.3 and 7.3A

The Answer is :

  V7.3A offers no user-visible changes.

Within V7.3A, there exists support for specific newer APIs needed
for proper interoperation with more recent Microsoft Windows client
  releases.

V7.3A also introduces improved caching, locking algorithms, and file
look-up mechanisms. All are intended to be performance improvements.

Additionally, V7.3A provides Opportunistic Locking -- effectively a
form of client-side caching. Opportunistic Locking can provide a
substantial performance improvement for those clients that utilize
  the capability.
