The Question is:
I cannot get flag pages to print on remote printers from my VAX system. I have
set the vms_flag_pages logical set to one. I have tried this on multiple
printers without result.Any thing I should look for here?
Thanks
The Answer is :
The OpenVMS Wizard will assume the logical name was a reference to
the TCPIP$LPD_VMS_FLAGPAGES (TCP/IP Services V5.0 and later) or the
UCX$LPD_VMS_FLAGPAGES logical name (releases prior to V5.0), or to
a similar logical name. Also see the VMS-Flagpages: TRUE entry in
the TCPIP$LPD_ROOT:[000000]TCPIP$LPD.CONF configuration file. (The
specifics here depend on the OpenVMS TCP/IP Services version.)
The OpenVMS Wizard will assume you have restarted the LPR print
symbiont once you have changed the logical name and/or reconfigured
the queue.
By default, LPD will expect the printer to generate the flag pages.
See the printer for details on setting up the flag page output in
the LPD server in the printer device. Topic (1020) discusses how
to control some of the job-page printing attributes on HP printers.
Please contact the support center, as details on the remote printers,
on the remote printer connection, on the version, ECO level, and queue
configuration of the particular networking software involved, and on
any details found in any available logging file(s) will be required.
Also, topic (1020) discusses setting up IP-based printing.
