External Authentication?

» close window

The Question is:

Does OpenVMS 7.3 have a PAM (pluggable authenication module like found in all
UNIX OS) or similar interface for external authenication calls, and if so,
where can I find technical information on how to use it?

The Answer is :

Please see the ACME information -- sys$acm -- in V7.3-1, and
please see the LOGINOUT LGI callout information on all recent
  OpenVMS releases.

Existing external authentication support for Kerberos and for
  LAN Manager is available.

Future OpenVMS external authentication implementations may
  include an LDAP-based repository.

Please see other external authentication topics here, as well.
