Timeouts and IP Routing Problems?

The Question is:

 
Trying to connect to the Alpha using eXcursion from a remote machine he gets a
 timeout
error. The timeout error doesn't happen if he connects via LAN but it
consistently fails when he uses VPN or his Kilostream link.
 

The Answer is :

 
  Please contact your network support organization for assistance,
