The Question is:
I installed OpenVMS 7.3 with DECNET-Plus. I configured DCECnet-PLUS and defined
remote nodes using DECNET_REGISTER. I was then able to set host to the other
node on our network.
Sometime after a system crash, any attempt to SET HOST results in a "Node
Unreachable". Any attempt to use DECNET_REGISTER hangs when accessing the
local database file.
The Answer is :
An initial guess: you lack one or more of the mandatory ECO kits for
OpenVMS Alpha V7.3. (Your question references both V7.3 and V7.3-1;
the OpenVMS Wizard is unsure of which OpenVMS version you are running.)
Assuming that you have all mandatory ECO kits for both OpenVMS Alpha and
for DECnet-Plus installed, please contact the customer support center.
The OpenVMS FAQ has pointers to a search engine which can retrieve the
names of ECO kits based on the ECO installation rating.
