The Question is:
I have been trying to find a command to logout users on the system. If I have a
couple of users who do not read the message that VAX is going down. I would
like to be able to log them off before shutting down. Do you know the command
for that?
The Answer is :
The system shutdown will log out the users for you, but you too can
use the STOP/ID command if you wish to delete the users manually.
There is no mechanism integrated and shipped with OpenVMS that will
allow you to to issue the LOGOUT command in the context of another
(and non-cooperating) user process.
A related topic -- idle-process killers and terminal time-out tools
-- is referenced in the OpenVMS FAQ.
