Backport TCP/IP Features to Older Versions?

The Question is:

 
 DIGITAL TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS Alpha Version V4.2 - ECO 1
  on a AlphaServer 800 5/500 running OpenVMS V7.1-2
 
Is there a way to set up a logical using Digital TCPIP Services' UCX that does
 the same thing as TCPIP$SMTP_NO_SUBS_DOMAIN_INBOUND from Compaq TCPIP Services?
 

The Answer is :

 
  This configuration is no longer supported.  Please upgrade to a
  supported TCP/IP Services version, and please also consider an
  upgrade to a supported OpenVMS Alpha version.  If you believe that
  you must further defer these necessary upgrades, please apply the
  available mandatory ECO kits for your TCP/IP Services version and
  for your OpenVMS Alpha version.
 
  As for the question posed, features are seldom back-ported to
  prior product releases and the OpenVMS Wizard is aware of no
  plans to provide any new capabilities or to backport any new
  features to TCP/IP Services V4.2.
