DVD (DVD+R, DVD+RW) drives on OpenVMS?

The Question is:

 
I have a AlphaServer DS10. I have read that you try succesfuly several DVD
 readers in year 2000.Is it now possible to connect a DVD reader to my server ?
 

The Answer is :

 
  Yes, for purposes of data operations using supported disk volume formats.
 
  Please see the OpenVMS FAQ for discussions of CD-R and DVD operations,
  and discussions of how to obtain UDF format capabilities if required.
  OpenVMS does not include integrated support for UDF operations.
 
  With the OpenVMS Alpha V7.3-1 versions of LD and CDRECORD (latent within
  the distribution), the HP DVD200 series DVD+R/+RW device has been found
  to operate.
 
  That said, the OpenVMS Wizard does not know that this or other DVD
  configurations are officially supported.
