Hobbyist License? Serial Numbers?

The Question is:

 
The seral tag has faided on the back of the 3100 cpu and you can no longer read
 the seral number.  How can you find the serial nimber on the hardware or do a
 querry at the boot prompt to gwet the serial number so I can get a hobist
 license for openvms.
