SWXCR StorageWorks RAID and DR$INIT?

» close window

The Question is:

Where can I find more information on this process. I have tried searching our
printed documentation and the Web site but to no avail.

We had to run this recently when we replaced one of our RZ28 disks and we could
see it had an effect on the Total Number of blocks held on the disk but we
would like to know more about the process.

I look forward to hearing from you.

The Answer is :

DR$INIT.COM is assoiciated with the KZP-series SWXCR RAID controllers
and specifically with controller-based RAID; this command procedure is
part of the SWXCR layered software product installation, and not part
of the OpenVMS operating system itself.

Details on this procedure are available as part of the "Storageworks
RAID Array 200 Online Management Utility for OpenVMS AXP - User's Guide"
manual; in the SWXCR documentation with the order number of AA-Q6WVB-TE
  (or later).
