The Question is:
I manage several clusters which have either TF86 or TZ87 tape drives with
7-slot tape canisters. Is there a way to remotely mount a tape from a
previous, or selected, slot? For example, tapes sequentially load from slot-0
to slot-6; so if the tape from
slot-3 is loaded and I do a dismount then the tape in slot-4 will be
automatically mounted. How can I get the tape from slot-2 or slot-0 to mount?
The Answer is :
This requires access to loader software, and a loader command interface.
Please contact the Customer Support Center, as details on the tape
library and the configuration, and on the loader software in use (if
any) will be required.
