The Question is:
We upgraded from a VAX (OpenVMS) to Alpha (OpenVMS v7.3) I now find that when
files with particular imbedded control characters are printed, the printer
loses the font, page size and top of form settings. With the VAX, these
characters were obviously ig
nored.

Please contact the Customer Support Center, as specific commands,
specific embedded control sequences, specific printer information,
specific details on what changed -- if anything in addition to the
move from OpenVMS VAX to OpenVMS Alpha has changed -- and related
will very likely be required. Without additional detail(s) on this
problem and this environment, no (useful) answer is possible.
