The Question is:
I am looking to use a product (SSU) that Compaq discontinued two years ago. I
can install the product from an old CD, but do not have a license to run the
product. What is the policy converning retired (discontinued) products? I
would assume that Compaq
would release them into the public domain. If not, can I get a license from
some other means?
The Answer is :
The Session Support Utility (SSU) product is no longer available,
and was retired in 1998 -- the OpenVMS Wizard is not aware of any
currently-available means to acquire the license, and is not in
a position to determine of the release is contractually possible.
