The Question is:
What causes many processes to go into hibernate state?
The Answer is :
Please ensure that you have sufficient free space on the system disk
and on the disk where security audits are written -- for one common
cause of stuck processes, please see SET AUDIT/FAILURE_MODE. Please
also ensure that your system is appropriately tuned and resources are
available, and please install and upgrade the currently-available
OpenVMS and TCP/IP Services versions and the associated ECOs.
Of course, some unknown local application could also easily be generating
errant $hiber requests, and the application could be running anywhere on
the host or within the local cluster.
Please then contact the Compaq Customer Support Center for assistance.
