DECwrite, DDIF, CDA, and file conversions?

» close window

The Question is:

I have numerous files in Decwrite format that I need to convert to MS Word. Is
there an easy method for accomplishing this. The documents have a mix of text
and graphics, but I'd be happy if I could only convert the text and had to
 regenerate the graphics

The Answer is :

DECwrite permits access to the CDA converter library, and the CDA
converters included in DECwindows or the versions of the converters
in the CDE library package can be used to export various document
  formats.

The OpenVMS Wizard is aware of at least one CDA converter that was
capable of generating a version of RTF, though text converters are
  far more common.
