External Authentication and LDAP?

The Question is:

 
Can Alpha OpenVMS authenticate to a Directory Server using LDAP for Single Sign
 on?
 
Any direction would be GREATLY appreciated.

The Answer is :

 
  Kerberos and LAN Manager Authentication are the presently available
  mechanisms.  Details on adding additional external authentication
  mechanisms -- beyond the existing LGI callouts -- are expected to
  ship with OpenVMS Alpha V7.3-1.  The implementation of additional
  authentication protocols and the implementation of the necessary
  external authentication callouts into applications and layered
  products may/will follow, as required.
