The Question is:
When I delete a file in a directory who have many files (over 10000 ), I have a
big lack of performance on this disk. What we can do for have the bettest
performance.
The Answer is :
Please see the OpenVMS FAQ section "FILE4. What are the limits on
file specifications and directories?", and specifically the section
on "reverse deletion" -- the DFU freeware and the reverse-deletion
tools (often command procedures) are referenced there.
The OpenVMS Wizard would also check for disk fragmentation, and
would check for reasonable process quotas and for available I/O
bandwidth.
