The Question is:
PCNFS and error 229c
UCX> show version
DIGITAL TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS Alpha Version V4.2
on a AlphaServer 800 5/333 running OpenVMS V7.1-1H1
UCX>
Hi Wizard,
I using Omni Lite client on Win Nt to map a exported directory on an Alpha.
When I attempt to connect using PC-NFS option I get authorization failure on
the Omni Client, however in the file
sys$sysdevice:[ucx$pcnfs]UCX$PCNFSD_STARTUP.LOG the system is ju
st logging the following line -
rpc.pcnfsd: proxy database error 229c on VMS user system
Where can I find out what exactly this error is and the steps required to
remedy it.
PS - I can successfully mount a directory using the GID/UID option in OmniLite,
however this is using NFS and requires registering the individual PC(host)
names in UCX.
The Answer is :
Please upgrade to TCP/IP Services V5.0A or V5.1 (with ECO) and
please upgrade to OpenVMS Alpha V7.1-2 -- and try again. Neither
of your product releases are presently supported, and there have
been a variety of changes in the updated releases.
Please also try another client, to ensure this is not something
specific to the NFS client.
$ exit %x229c
%SYSTEM-F-WRONGNAME, local node name must match SCSNODE
$ exit %x229c
If the more recent releases do not resolve this, please contact
the Compaq Customer Support Center directly, as additional details
of the configuration will be required.
