The Question is:
Are there any known issues with TCP/IP on Alpha
VMS 7.2 where the BG device does a great deal
of I/O in this scenerio?
1. Create a TCP connection to an end device.
2. Send some data packets to the device.
3. Do no further activity at all to the device.
4. Power-off the device.
At some point after step 4 is when the BG I/O
activity is noticed.
The TCP connection is made with keep-alives
enabled, so could this be a case of poorly
tuned keep-alive timing?
The Answer is :
Please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center. Expect to be
asked details of the environment and the application, of the TCP/IP
Services version, and the reported problem. You may be asked for a
reproducer. You will also be encouraged to upgrade to OpenVMS Alpha
V7.2-1 release and to TCP/IP Services V5.0A or V5.1, and to apply the
available (mandatory) ECO kits for OpenVMS and for TCP/IP Services.
