MicroVAX Self-Test Diagnostic Error?

The Question is:

 
I have a MicroVax 3100-40 with no user/hardware documentation.  When booting
 the system I get the following error, which I assume is Ethernet related:
 
?? 001 9 NI 0050
 
I get the same error whether I use the BNC or AUI connected to the network  I
 have tried with both termination and without termination and with the network
 selector switch in both positions.  Any suggestions would be greatly
 appreciated (kind of sounds li
ke a motherboard problem).  Thank you in advance.
 

The Answer is :

 
  This is a hard error on the NIC.  Assuming correct termination on the
  network segment, please contact your hardware service organization for
