Third-party Hardware? (Fibre Channel)

The Question is:

 
I have a Alpha Server 2100, running openvms 7.2-1 with a  KGPSA-CA installed.
 The KGPSA is connected to a fabric switch  and connected to third party
 storage. Is it possible to get openvms to see the third party storaage or is
 the driver only limited to
Compaq Storage only?

The Answer is :

 
  The OpenVMS FAQ section "Third-party disk/tape/controllers/SCSI/widgets
  on OpenVMS?" will be of interest -- substitute "Fibre Channel" for SCSI
  or for IDE referenced in that section, the contents and the discussion
