PPP Over Ethernet (PPPOE) Support?

» close window

The Question is:

Does openvms support PPP over ethernet?

The Answer is :

PPP is a serial protocol, and is supported by OpenVMS. PPP over
Ethernet is more commonly known as PPPOE, and is not supported.

Any number of network protocols exist that permit the connection
of user sessions and remote printers, salient examples include
  IP, LAT, and DECnet.

A focused question provides insufficient background for the OpenVMS
Wizard to formulate a more specific response, and insufficient grist
for discussions of any available alternatives or prefered solutions
  that might exist.

Accordingly, please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center.
