The Question is:
We have a SAN connected by two Connectrix at two sites, supporting different
flavors of platform like Sun, HP, digital, etc
When we activate a modified Zone set, it's normal a very little disconnection
between the switch and the hosts, but it's so small that the hosts (Sun
Solaris) only have a warning (message of offline disks and then returned to
online) in less than a second
(flicks). That didn't happen with a Compaq GS160 (OpenVMS 7.2, HBA KGPSA-CA
emulex); when we activate the new zone set the system crashes (some disks in
non verify state)
Do you know somebody who is using Connectrix and some OpenVMS system or similar?
or some list in internet who can help?
Thanks in advance
The Answer is :
Please see various other discussions of third-party hardware here
in the Ask The Wizard area -- issues of device [in]compatibility
can involve a difficult and lengthy resolution process. Please
contact your support organizations, and specifically please contact
the organization supporting your storage -- the resolution of this
(unspecified) system crash will likely involve the assistance of
both your storage support vendor and your OpenVMS support vendor.
As this initially appears to be a problem with EMC storage or with
the EMC configuration, please contact EMC for assistance.
