The Question is:

 
Hi,
 
We have a large number of'Phantom ''BG' devices showing up on our system and
 would like to know how to get rid of them without doing a reboot.
 
It seems to get to around 10,000 odd then the machine crashes.
 
Running TCPware 5.4-3.

  Please contact Process Software -- the maintainers of TCPware -- for
  assistance.
 
  This problem may well be resolved by an existing and apparently
  relevent TCPware ECO available from Process Software.  Please contact
  Process Software support for the current status of and the current
  availability of TCPware ECO kits.
 
  Alternatively, please install and configure the TCP/IP Services
  package -- most OpenVMS systems have a NAS or UCX license, and
  can thus use the TCP/IP Services package.
