Locked log files and COPY?

The Question is:

 
The ask the wizard question "Locked log files and COPY?" was answered "FAQ" but
 if the answer is in there I sure don't see it.
 
 

The Answer is :

 
  Batch log files are open for read-sharing access by default, hence
  this file is likely opened directly by the application itself, hence
  the OpenVMS FAQ section "How can I open a file for shared access?"
