PE is the Cluster Port Emulator, an emulation of more traditional
cluster communications port hardware, and this emulation permits
communication with other cluster members via a network (typically
Ethernet) connection. Specifically, this message indicates that
a cluster connection to node ALPHA via the PEA0: port has been
shut down. This could be due to a communications or connection
failure, or due to node ALPHA shutting down, etc.
