Breaking into OpenVMS, forgotten password?

The Question is:

 
If I have lost the system password, how can I break in to recover this, without
 having to re-install the OS..

The Answer is :

 
  Please see the OpenVMS Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) or the
  emergency system startup discussion in the OpenVMS System Manager's
  Essentials Manual -- other topics here in Ask The Wizard point to
  the FAQ, as well.  All of these resources will explain how to break
  into an OpenVMS system when the SYSTEM password is either forgotten
