The Question is:
Hi,
4 Clustered AlphaServers 2100/A 4/275
We have a modem hanging off TTA0:
Every so often we get in a situation while using the modem where there is a
communication problem and TTA0: thinks that it is still busy. We don't think
that it's the config of the modem or the terminal settings as 99% it is fine.
The question is how can I reset TTA0: to become idle again when it's got itself
into this busy state.
Example.
There was a problem with the transmission, nothing is using this port anymore
however
show dev tta0:/full
Terminal TTA0:, device type unknown, is online, record-oriented device,
carriage control, device is busy.

The only way we have been able to clear it is to reboot the machine.
The workaround at the moment is to use a com port on one of the other Alphas
and reboot the machine in an outage.
The Answer is :
Please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center, as this would
appear to be a rather unusual state within the terminal driver.
