We are in the process of installing a new printer for printing our cheques.
The printer will have an IP address and I would like to know how to set the
printer details up on the Alpha. I would also like to know the difference if
we have to set the print
er up as a telnet printer or a ucx printer.

Please start with topic (1020), and with the available TCP/IP Services
printing documentation.
For IP printing, you can choose to use telnet or lpr/lpd, which of these
two printing protocols you choose does not particularly matter to TCP/IP
Services software -- though it is possible that a particular printer may
prefer one or the other, possibly due to the implementation details of
the printer or the telnet or lpd server(s) within the particular printer.
