TCP/IP Services Product History, Name?

» close window

The Question is:

Is UCX now named Compaq for TCP/IP Services?

The Answer is :

The product TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS formerly used the product
facility prefix code UCX$, and -- with the introduction of the new
kernel in V5.0 -- now uses the facility prefix TCPIP$.

The product name itself was changed from original the "VMS/ULTRIX
Connection" product -- that name was the basis of the UCX$ facility
prefix -- to "TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS" a decade ago.
