PATHWORKS V5 Data Cache Size?

» close window

The Question is:

I have an unusual error in my PWRK$LMSRV_V6220.LOG that reads as follows:
warning data cache is saturated, cache size should be increased. How do I
increase my cache size? Can this error lead to a crash of the system?
I am running Pathworks v5.0-500e and vms 5.52 on a vax 6610.

I have software support though the Allegehny County Controllers office--CSC#
 123708

The Answer is :

The OpenVMS Wizard will assume the error you saw was "data cache
overrun cache size should be increased!".

In PATHWORKS V5, the data cache size can be set using the ADMIN/CONFIG
tool, in the Advanced section. Increase the size of the cache to a
value that is (minimally) the expected numbers of concurrent client
sessions times 80bilobytes (VAX), or times 100 kilobytes (Alpha).
The maximum data cache size under V5 is circa 128 megabytes.

Please consider upgrading PATHWORKS, as the V5 version is woefully
  out of date.
