The Question is:
I have TCPIP Services for OpenVMS V5.0a installed and FTP is configured and has
been used successfully in the past.
Presently using FTP to initiate an outbound connection to another FTP server
(any platform: WIN98, OpenVMS VAX, OpenVMS Alpha) works correctly.
However, using FTP on another platform (WIN98, OpenVMS VAX, OpenVMS Alpha) with
an inbound connection fails with "%TCPIP$-E-LOGREJ, login request rejected"
even when the same username and password can log in via DecNET OSI or LAT. I
have checked director
y and UAF ownership and file protections as well as ACL's and all is identical
to a similar installation elsewhere that does allow bi-directional access
using FTP.
Can you shed any light on this situation?
Thank You
The Answer is :
Enable OpenVMS system security auditing, and see if there are any
audits logged relevent to this failed access. Also enable and check
the contents of the FTPD log. If these two investigations do not point
to the cause, please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center for
assistance in debugging this.
An ECO is available for TCP/IP Services V5.0A, and the V5.1 release
is also available.
