The Question is:
Is it possible to obtain a PCI card that has either RS232 or RS422 sockets on
that can be accessed on the Alpha running VMS as TTA ports ?
I am currently trying to obtain at least 4 ports of this type via an ES40. The
two 9 pin d-types on the back of an ES40 are accessed as OPA0: and TTA0: I
need more TT ports than that for our application.
I cannot find one of these PCI cards anywhere on the Compaq Web site that is
qualified for OpenVMS operating system. Please help.
My alternative may be a terminal server and LAT.
The Answer is :
Via terminal server (IP or LAT) access obviously, via the PBXDA, and
at least one third-party (Digi International) offers asynchronous
PCI communications options.
