ECOs and firmware for TLZ09 DDS/DAT drive?

» close window

The Question is:

I have recently converted an Alphaserver 800 5/333 to run OpenVMS rather than
 NT. This is now running OpenVMS 7.2-1 and all is fine except that the TLZ09
 dat drive will not work. Any operation on it gives a CTRLERR error. The
 DIAGNOSE output states firmwa
re is 0172 and the SCSI error is a "Send SCSI Command Failed". Is this a
 software (ie fixable) error or a hardware error (ie repair or replace the
 TLZ09)?

The Answer is :

  Please contact your service organization, and upgrade the TLZ09
  device drive firmware revision.

  The OpenVMS Wizard will assume the AlphaServer 800 series is
  using current SRM firmware.
