The Question is:
On a Alpha on VMS 7.1-2 using UCX V4.1 - ECO 8 when connecting to a DECBrouter
90 via DECHub900 Telnet connects OK, but a PING gives a Target does not respond.
Any ideas what could be wrong?
The Answer is :
Try pinging another host. This test will localize the likely source
of the problem to TCP/IP Services -- and please seriously consider an
upgrade to TCP/IP Services V5.0A with current ECO or later -- or to
the ping target itself (eg: ICMP support is disabled or is otherwise
unavailable on the target) or the network connection to the target.
