RW Series Optical Jukebox?

The Question is:

 
What layered product is used to access the media changer on an RW504 optical
 jukebox?
 
I can init, mount, read/write and even boot from the media currently loaded in
 the drive, but I can only change media from the RW control panel.
The drive and changer show up as seperate SCSI id's.
 
VAXstation 3540 (hobbyist system)
Currently running VMS 5.5, but I will be upgrading to v7.
