The Question is:
We have our accounting system on our DEC Alpha server that is running version
2.1 of the VMS software. The problem I am getting is that with the monitor
connected to the server, all I get is a black screen with a yellow bar at the
bottom of the screen wh
ich says, "Ready" and the cursor at the top just blinks, it doesn't show what
I try to type, and just sits there, I can get into the setup however, to no
avail of getting logged into the accounting system through the terminal. Is
there any suggestions y
ou may be able to offer me?
The Answer is :
Please contact your site-specific or application vendor for assistance,
as it appears that your terminal is not connecting to the OpenVMS Alpha
host (which could be a failure anywhere between your terminal and the
host, inclusive), or the OpenVMS Alpha host or the application could
potentially be off-line at present.
