Bound volume set and BACKUP?

The Question is:

 
How would I do a standalone backup and restore of 3 disks that I have Binded
 together and will this defrag our disks??
 
 
 

The Answer is :

 
  Since the system disk cannot be part of a bound volume set, you can use
  the on-line BACKUP/IMAGE and OpenVMS for this purpose.  Simply start up
  the environment minimally and mount the bound volume set disks, or
  quiesce the applications and perform the BACKUP/IMAGE directly.
 
  This sequence will defragment the contents of the bound volume set.
