The Question is:
Hi Wizard,
Please can you explain what roles HSJ's & HSD's play in the over-all set up of
a Vax. I am i right in thinking they are device controllers ?
If so how can i logon to an HSD or HSJ to me what is attached?

The Answer is :
These are storage controllers.
Please see the documentation for the particular HSD or HSJ device for
details on the respective console interface and options available.
Details on accessing DSSI devices is included in the OpenVMS FAQ.
Details on accessing device consoles can and does vary by device
and by how (and if) a particular device console is wired to the
host system and/or how (if) the device console is remotely accessed.
