The Question is:
We have an Alpha 4100 running Openvms 7.1-1h2 with UCX installed. we want to
forward mail from it to a NT Server running Exchange 5.5
Is this possible

The Answer is :
OpenVMS and TCP/IP Services support standards-compliant SMTP mail.
If you wish mail that is sent to a particular OpenVMS user to be
forwarded to another IP address, use the SET FORWARD command in MAIL.
Check with a Microsoft Wizard for details on how to send and receive
SMTP mail with the Microsoft Exchange package.
An upgrade to OpenVMS Alpha V7.1-2 or V7.2-1, and to TCP/IP Services
V5.0A, is recommended for your current configuration -- though this
is not specific to sending and receiving SMTP email.
