The Question is:

 
I understand that a DCL symbol name can be 255 characters, and that a 1K buffer
 is available for symbol assignment that includes the symbol name and
 assignment contents (assuming a character symbol.) My question is how many
 characters can be read into a s
ymbol via a DCL read command? This is assuming a sequential file containing
 nothing but printable ASCII characters?
